The recent riots in the UK are different than the riots we've seen in the last few years. In the other riots, such as the pro Hamas riots or the Black Lives Matter riots, it was against the supposedly white or ‘Western’ status quo. In the UK, the white status quo were the ones doing the rioting. Oddly enough, there was a thread that tied them all together. All of the anger came from the foundation what we've come to know as the ‘woke ideology.’ Wokeness is the belief that society is filled with persecuted and mistreated victim groups and that our animating purpose is to relieve the oppressed from the oppressors. Of course, in the Black Lives Matter demonstrations, the narrative was that America was racist, including and especially our police force, which has supposedly unfairly targeted and oppressed blacks. The pro Hamas demonstrators had bought into the idea that Israel did not have the right to exist, and therefore had been oppressing the Palestinian people from the beginning. Thus, the horrific October 7th murders and atrocities were nothing but pent up anger from decades of oppression. In the case of the UK riots, the British population had been steadily enduring what they felt was overwhelming levels of mass immigration. I don't follow British politics that much, but it appears both the conservative and the liberal Party have been unwilling to curb the rate of immigration. How does this tie into the Woke ideology? It has to do with a couple of things. One, since England has been a predominantly white nation historically, nobody wanted to curb the massive immigration influx for fear of being called racist. Since most of the population, liberal and conservative, wanted immigration curbed dramatically, it is not sure who these thin-skinned politicians were so afraid of. Secondly, because the English culture was ‘obviously’ racist and oppressive, the culture needed to be changed. The quickest way to do this was to allow massive influx of immigrants with different cultures, who had no desire to assimilate into British culture. The resulting numbers were so large, and the culture was changing so dramatically, it could not be ignored anymore, thus the riots, which were sparked by the murder of three young girls by what was believed at the time to be an immigrant.
An additional component to the British drama was the rapid and many would consider extreme position taken by the government to not only suppress but actually criminalize social media posts that either supported the riots or even just mentioned them. Many of us here in the US, who see it as tyranny for putting someone in jail for three years for a Facebook post, are left without words for this. Even more outrageous, is the threat by the British authorities against Elon Musk for even suggesting on X that these actions could result in a civil war. The European Commission went so far as to threaten Elon Musk in anticipation of an interview with Donald Trump, the Republican nominee for President. The British government seemed intent on blaming the riots on social media, not on decades of pent up frustration by the British people. This is very similar to those in the US here who wanted to blame the Hamas demonstrations on outside instigators. What they failed to consider is that you can't instigate someone to a state of mind that is not already pre-existing to a large degree. Outside instigators, in the case of the Hamas demonstrators needed a predisposed mindset among American university students who had been steadily absorbing the anti-Israel rhetoric by their university professors.
As I mention consistently throughout my book and in my newsletters, this whole idea of ‘wokeness’ is a religious impulse. It is embraced, not by the people at large, but by our supposed leaders, who seem to have a huge gaping moral hole inside them, because they have abandoned our Christian heritage. This moral vacuum demands to be filled and so the substitute religion of ‘woke’ (we care for the marginalized) is embraced. In the case of the British people, this immigration policy is against the repeatedly stated wishes of their own people. No one is asking for mass migration. The leaders seem bent on proving how caring and compassionate and multicultural they are, not to the people who elect them but evidently to their peers and possibly to themselves. Abandoning Christianity as a moral code seems to have seriously damaged their moral compass, with ‘wokeness’ being the only viable replacement. Initially, people are fooled by this ’fake compassion’ rooted in a bogus moral code, but then a tipping point is reached and the public is now pushing back. These politicians are willing to ‘pay the price’ to follow their new found religion, even to the detriment of the culture and the rage of the people. They seem to be oblivious to criticism much as a religious zealot would, writing it off as ‘persecution’ by the unenlightened masses for their ‘purity’ to the cause. People who criticize them are deemed racists or bigots. ‘Anti racism’ is a tenet of this new religion, belonging on tablets of stone, or perhaps in their beatitudes. Racism, the chief and original sin, must be rooted out continually, like some never ending atonement. As I've said before, the very term ‘woke’ has a religious connotation hearkening back to prior periods which has come to be known in America as the Great Awakening, an intense spiritual revival. This is the pagan version of a Christian awakening.
Secular Paradise?
These increasing tensions on both sides of the Atlantic and the willingness of those in positions of authority to censor and punish their critics should forever dispel the notion that we can have a free and open ‘secular’ society completely unmoored from our Christian past. The abandonment of all Christian morality in the name of ‘pluralism’ or secularism has created a gaping moral hole in our leaders that has been filled with the new pagan ‘woke’ religion, to the steady deterioration of our society. This new religion, while pretending to be ‘tolerant’, has no qualms about crushing dissent in the name of ‘keeping people from harm’ or spreading ‘dangerous ideas’. This is the talk of atheistic dictators. As author Doug Wilson so pointedly asks in his book Mere Christendom, “Out of all the explicitly atheistic societies that formed over the course of the last century, how many of them were open and free societies?” (Mere Christendom, p. 133)
If these destructive tendencies are ever to change, a new kind of leader must be demanded. It is now become painfully obvious that the personal moral code of a would be leader is paramount. What we need are leaders who will state and demonstrate that they value our Christian heritage, that they respect beliefs and concerns of the Christians within the population, and that they will lead accordingly. Even famous atheist Richard Dawkins has stated he considers himself a ‘cultural Christian’, as he sees the steady and rapid deterioration of (British) society governed by leaders who seem determined to stamp out their nation’s Christian heritage.
What does this mean to be governed by an overarching Christian consensus? It does not mean that we have to examine the authenticity of a person's personal faith experience or commitment. Throughout our history, people who were probably not true Christians nevertheless demonstrated a respect for and commitment to our Judeo-Christian morality and heritage. What can happen however is that leaders, whether government school or corporate, can make it clear that they respect the historic Christian moral code of our nation and they're not going to shove a pagan morality down our throats, just to satisfy the demands of woke activists. ‘Tolerance’ does not require us to champion every lifestyle, especially those that are condemned by scripture. These leaders don't have to and therefore should not come up with bogus moral positions such as making everything about race or gender, or the planet. Those of us who care about our country and the people who live in it can speak up more. We are seeing some exciting trends occurring because people are willing to speak up. School boards are changing. A Christian activist names Robby Starbuck has seen a recent string of victories where companies whose customer base is mostly conservative (like Tractor Supply, John Deere, Harley Davidson) have been forced to cancel their destructive DEI policies, with company funds being used to support vile pagan practices such as drag shows and parades. Courageous whistleblowers within these companies have revealed the dark practices of these out of touch CEOs, and forced rapid change. Whistleblowers at some of our nation’s largest hospitals have exposed the hideous practice of transitioning teens to a transgender identity, forcing them to abandon these programs. Fellow Substack author Christopher Rufo has been successful at exposing radical DEI programming at universities like the University of Texas at Austin, in my home state, which brought about legislation canceling funding for these programs. These are big wins! We need to quit whining and saying things like ‘Well, I better not say anything.’ Conservatives have a bad habit of complaining about the culture of victimhood and then whining like victims. Don’t let the pagans do all the talking. Get a backbone and speak up. Ask your boss or your teacher why he or she is forcing you or your children to celebrate gay pride or transgenderism or bogus environmental claims. Ask why they're promoting racism in the name of anti-racism and explain that this is a decidedly anti-Christian concept. Make it clear that you believe all people are equal because the Bible says so. We desperately need references to divine authority back into our world. If we don't speak up about these things, who will? Now is our time.

The church must speak up! The immigrant/ politician take over of the E.U. is the same problem in America. The church in Germany did not speak up when Hitler took over. Look what happened there. The church has tried to "stay out of it" claiming that we are in the world but not of it. Matthew 28 commissions us to "make disciples of all nations". We have the power to hold evil back until we are taken out of the way. 2Thess. 2. Get involved church! Speak up!
